AdSociety Launches First Superstitial Network in Asia

Hong
Kong, June 27, 2001
- AdSociety, the first pan-Asian broadband advertising, marketing, and sales
network, and a majority-owned joint venture of PCCW (SEHK : 0008, NYSE : PCW
[ADR]) has announced the launch of the first Unicast SUPERSTITIAL affiliate
network in Asia. At
launch, the AdSociety SUPERSTITIAL affiliate network comprises more than 50
leading Web properties across 10 key Asian markets including Australia,
China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore,
Taiwan, and Thailand and the United States which accept SUPERSTITIAL
advertising formats. "This
new product is the first in Asia and is part of AdSociety's ongoing efforts
to deliver the best online marketing and advertising solutions to marketers.
In the United States and now in Asia, SUPERSTITIALs has fast become a new
premium tier of advertising inventory that can potentially deliver higher
returns over traditional online ad formats. Our focus has always been to
bring new revenue opportunities to our affiliate website partners and also
to provide new and exciting solutions for our advertisers to continue to
build their brands in this new media economy," said Patrick Wong,
founder and CEO, AdSociety Group. Developed
by and proprietary to Unicast, The SUPERSTITIAL is a standard online
advertising format that is sold by over 350 Web sites and ad networks and
currently used by over 150 leading traditional advertisers.
Known as "The Internet's Commercial," the SUPERSTITIAL
format allows Web publishers to monetize advertisers' demand for effective
online advertising by giving advertisers the flexibility to create
integrated, powerful, commercial-quality online advertising. The
SUPERSTITIAL is supported by Unicast's proprietary, polite delivery system
to ensure that, just like a television commercial, every SUPERSTITIAL ad
plays perfectly for every user regardless of the user's system capabilities
or the Web site the user is visiting. Currently,
AdSociety's SUPERSTITIAL network represents a rich roster of high traffic
and big brand sites including 23xx, @Woman Japan, BlueSkyFrog,
MarketWatch.com, HKCyber, HKStock.com, iFilm, Livedoor, LycosAsia, Real
Japan and Real Australia, NYTimes, Sina.com, Sohu.com and The Basement.
Together, these sites generate more than 8.5 billion impressions every
month. Advertisers can now
create a single SUPERSTITIAL ad format and choose to either
distribute it to one, or many Web sites under AdSociety's
SUPERSTITIAL network. This provides advertisers maximum brand
exposure using a single ad format to target online viewers across
all or select markets. "Unicast
is very pleased to be working with AdSociety as our first partner in
Asia," said Allie Shaw, VP worldwide marketing, Unicast.
"AdSociety clearly is dedicated to offering both its partner Web sites
and its advertiser customers the most effective and compelling online
advertising formats available. Congratulations to them for quickly
assembling such a high-calibre SUPERSTITIAL affiliate network for
advertisers looking to reach the Asian
marketplace." Earlier
this year, AdSociety became Unicast's first SUPERSTITIAL Certified partner
in Asia, which allows the company to market and sell SUPERSTITIAL campaigns
across the Asia Pacific region. The company is offering the SUPERSTITIAL as
a core component to its online solutions portfolio to supplement traditional
banner and sponsorship opportunities, as well as broadband, wireless, and
email-marketing ad solutions. About
