AdSociety Inks Exclusive Pan-Asian Network Partnership With AdClip Networks; Digital Promotional Offers Set To Encourage Online Buying

 

Hong Kong, July 16, 2001 - AdSociety, the first pan-Asian broadband advertising, marketing, and sales network, and a majority-owned joint venture of PCCW (SEHK: 0008, NYSE: PCW [ADR]) has inked an exclusive network partnership with US-based AdClip Networks Corporation, a provider of web and wireless based digital marketing technology and services.

Under the exclusive agreement, AdSociety will offer Asian advertisers the exclusive opportunity to provide potential buyers with an interactive permission-based marketing tool called AdClips, a next generation clippable promotions media delivered via the Internet.

AdClips™ differ from other types of online advertising because they can be "clipped" by site visitors and stored to an email account or a personalized AdClip Wallet™, to be redeemed at a later date. AdClips™ are similar in concept to tearing coupons out of a newspaper and provide advertisers with a measurably better return on investment for advertising campaigns.

“AdClips take permission-based marketing a step further and can be targeted to any web page, wireless device or interactive TV screen and fit any standard ad format including banner, button, text, and tiles. When a consumer clips an AdClip™ for the first time, they enter the email address where they would like the AdClip™ offer, and the AdClip Wallet™ to be sent.  For each advertiser campaign, AdClip Buying Cycle Management™ software collects consumers’ email addresses.  This is extremely valuable to advertisers in building relationships and creating follow up and future sales opportunities targeting at the purchasing habits of buyers. Advertisers can also measure increases in sales by identifying qualified prospects and then moving them through the buying cycle to close a transaction.

For publishers, AdClip Networks allow them to instantly deploy co-branded Wallets on their sites. The Wallet represents a powerful tool in permission-based direct marketing as marketers can access qualified customers directly through a network of sites.

As part of the agreement, AdSociety will also offer its advertisers other unique AdClip™ offerings including: ContentClips™, online promotions that can be targeted to relevant content on any web page; ClipMail™, which enables people to send AdClips™ to friends who may be interested; and ClipsDirect™, which are AdClips™ delivered directly to members' AdClip Wallets™ based on their interests.
