AdSociety Partners With e-Brilliant to Introduce 3D Animated Advertising Formats and Interactive Content in Asia

AdSociety, the first pan-Asian broadband advertising, marketing and sales network and a majority-owned joint venture of PCCW (SEHK: 0008, NYS: PCW [ADR]) today announced its partnership with e-Brilliant, a Singapore-based 3D animation studio to enable and syndicate 3D animated technology and content in Asia. AdSociety will target both traditional advertising agencies as well as media owners to introduce next generation 3D animated advertising formats and interactive content.
e-Brilliant is a joint venture set up in August last year between Hong Kong-listed telecommunications and Internet company e-New Media Company and US-listed entertainment content producer Brilliant Digital Entertainment (BDE). BDE has exclusively licensed its B3D Studio 3D technology to the Joint Venture in Asia. According to Anthony Shang, joint managing director of e-Brilliant, "B3D content is distinguished by its ability to create broadband quality 3D animations, which can be delivered to narrowband users via the Internet". "E-Brilliant's animated content is characterized by its small file sizes, shorter download times and full screen images that enable clients to deliver interactive and innovative content to their target audience. The highly compressed files sizes enable full screen playback to be delivered on a normal 56Kbps dial up Internet connection, " Shang added. Under the agreement, AdSociety has granted the exclusive sub-license rights to market and sell sponsorships of Asian language versions of e-Brilliant's content and technology to advertising agencies in 12 key markets in Asia, including, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, and India. In addition, AdSociety has gained the exclusive right to sell product placement and content sponsorship that will be integrated into a huge library of animated movies produced by e-Brilliant. For example, AdSociety can sell sponsorship to a retail company for the clothes worn by the heroine featured in one of e-Brilliant's leading multipath animated movies called the Love Story. The two companies will also work together to set-up a movie and content syndication network for Web properties in Asia, and look at other offline markets such as film, TV, music and the publishing industries with potential to animate content for the Internet. Other than product placements and sponsorships, AdSociety will pitch other innovative animated content opportunities to its agency contact network including the production of digital postcards (30k to 300k) and 3D Banner Ad formats (35k to 100k) using B3D's Studio technology.
