AdSociety Adds Depth and Breath to its Management Team

HONG KONG, September 26, 2000 - Following its recent launch, AdSociety -- a majority-owned joint venture company of Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW) and the first pan-Asian broadband advertising, marketing and sales network -- today announced the appointment of two senior executives to the company to further strengthen its management team.

AdSociety appoints Vivian Tso as its vice president for regional finance management, and Lui Tong as director of regional business development. Based in Hong Kong, Vivian will be responsible for the overall financial management of the company whilst Lui will manage the implementation of the company's business development strategies. Both executives will report directly to Mark Brown, the company's recently appointed President for the Asia Pacific region.

AdSociety provides broadband advertising, marketing and sales services to PCCW's innovative Network of the World (NOW), the first-ever truly synchronized TV-web service and other PCCW-related companies as well as provides online marketing solutions to both advertisers and member sites.

Patrick added: "Vivian has over 10 years of financial, commercial and start-up experience across a wide range of global and regional manufacturing, distribution, hi-tech companies in Asia and the United States. Vivian's substantial experience and expertise will prove to be invaluable in AdSociety's fundamental financial management."

On the appointment of Lui to the team, Patrick commented, "Lui has brought with her over 10 years of senior management experience in business development, sales and marketing from dotcoms and industrial companies. Her extensive knowledge and experience across the various industries will help guide the future development of our business and market growth strategies throughout the Asian region."

Prior to her appointment at AdSociety, Vivian was the lead finance analyst at GE Medial Systems Asia, a business unit of General Electric Company [NYSE: GE], where she the financial planning and commercial analysis of the Services division throughout seven Pan-Asian regions. She also held multiple Asia-wide finance positions of the various GE business units. Apart from handling various leadership roles, she also led regional projects including mergers & acquisitions, joint-venture start-ups, financial systems implementation and process reengineering. For six years, Vivian worked in Silicon Valley (U.S.) with IMAG Industries, Inc., a hi-tech software company with extended distribution throughout China. She held senior management positions in both finance and operations and was promoted as the company's managing director for the Hong Kong operations. Vivian holds a BSc in Business Administration in Accounting from San Jose State University, USA.

Before joining AdSociety, Lui was the sales director for a community portal, renren.com, a renren Media [NYSE: 0059] and a News Corp company. As a pioneering member, Lui successfully set-up the sales team and developed it to become one of Asia's reputable site. Lui was also actively involved in the development of the company's business strategy and its growth in the markets. In 1997, Lui was one of the youngest senior executives at Ciba Specialty Chemicals. [Swiss: CibaSC]. Being one of the core members actively involved in Ciba's joint ventures in the Greater China region, she subsequently strategized their exposure to the global markets. Lui's major accomplishment was engineering the business structure that led it to be profitable during the financial crisis period. In 1992, Lui started her career in Coulter Electronics, now known as Beckman Coulter [NYSE: BEC], responsible for its marketing activities in the Asia region. She was soon grown to manage its industrial product business and successfully increased its sales 300 percent within two years, moreover establishing it as the industry leader. Lui is also the vice president of New Media and Technology for International Advertising Association in Hong Kong, and is a member of its executive board.
